Ladies' Night is a biannual pop-up bar experience designed as a gathering space specifically for LGBTQ women. The event organizers asked me to create a marketing campaign for the event that would allow for confidentiality as well as maximum inclusivity. I used the Venus of Willendorf—a prehistoric sculpture thought to represent fertility—as a primeval symbol of feminine power. Combined with stereotypically masculine type treatment, the visual system welcomes and includes many forms of gender expression.
The guest list was kept confidential in order to maintain the privacy of participants, so event organizers used a guerilla-style social media campaign, posting the below graphic and sharing the invite directly as opposed to on a public platform.
